RACING FOR THE ONE

Inspired by the words of Jesus about the shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to search for the one who is lost, Racing for the One is an outreach ministry that brings hope, prayer, and encouragement directly into racing communities.

At racetracks and racing events, we create welcoming spaces where people can stop for a moment, share a conversation, receive prayer, and encounter the love of Christ.

Because sometimes the most important person to reach…
is the one who feels forgotten.

WHY RACETRACKS

Racetracks bring together people from every walk of life. Drivers, crews, families, fans, and travelers all gather around a shared passion for racing.

Yet behind the excitement of the race, many people are quietly carrying burdens—addiction, loss, stress, broken relationships, or spiritual emptiness.

Racing for the One exists to meet people where they already are and remind them that hope, restoration, and new beginnings are always possible through Jesus Christ.

WHY THIS OUTREACH MATTERS TO ME

Racetracks have been part of my life for many years. Some of my earliest memories are of being at the Plymouth and South Bend Speedways with my family. It was also at the Plymouth Speedway where I first met my wife, Sam. I loved the lights, the action, the sound of the engines, and the combined smell of racing fuel and excitement that filled the air until well after the final checkered flag fell on the night’s racing.

But along with the excitement often came a culture of partying that continued to fuel my already problematic drinking. what once felt like fun eventually pushed me deeper into alcoholism and nearly destroyed my life.

Through the grace of God, recovery, and a long journey of healing, my story begun to change. Today I return to the racetracks with a very different purpose.

Racing for the One exists because I know firsthand that behind the excitement of race night, many people are quietly struggling. My hope is to create a space where someone can pause for a moment, have a conversation, receive a prayer, and be reminded that their life matters and their story is not finished.

Sometimes the place that once held our deepest struggles becomes the very place where God sends us back to bring hope to someone else.
